Premier Pays Tribute to Leo Rossiter

Premier Keith Milligan issued the following statement on the passing of Leo Rossiter. He died Friday, October 25th, 1996.

Premier Keith Milligan says that Prince Edward Island has lost in Leo Rossiter more than a community leader but, "a man who was driven by his commitment for the betterment of this province and the people of Prince Edward Island throughout his life."

"Mr. Rossiter was certainly a colourful politician who served the people of Morell and this province with great dedication as an M.L.A. in 2nd Kings for eight consecutive terms over a 26 year period, beginning in 1959. He also held several cabinet portfolios including the Minister of Fisheries, Minister of Labour and Minister of Industry and Natural Resources."

"Among his many accomplishments, Leo Rossiter was a strong community man and was a member of the Morell Village Commission for almost 30 years."

Premier Milligan sends his deepest sympathy to Anna Rossiter, his wife, and his four children, Jacqueline, Jerry, Eugene and Melvin.
