October 2, 2000 Premier's OfficeIn an effort to allow Islanders the opportunity to express their own sympathies to the family of the late Right Honourable Pierre Elliott Trudeau, Premier Pat Binns announced that a book of condolence will be available for all Islanders to sign. The book will be open beginning Monday at 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., and again on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until noon. The book of condolence will be located in the foyer at Province House in Charlottetown, and will be sent directly to the family of the late Prime Minister on Thursday. "This book will give all Islanders an opportunity to express their sympathy to the members of Mr. Trudeau's family", said the Premier. Premier Binns also indicated that he will travel to Mr. Trudeau's funeral in Montreal on Tuesday morning. The funeral is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. (EST) at Notre Dame Basilica. "I have spoken to the three former Premiers of Prince Edward Island who served while Mr. Trudeau was Prime Minister to extend an invitation to attend the funeral as well." Hon. Alex Campbell, Hon.
