July 8, 2002 * Agriculture and Forestry [to Oct 2003]Mr. Wayne Diamond has been elected to the Prince Edward Island Potato Board. Charles Coles, Returning Officer reported that Mr. Diamond was elected following the ballot count of July 3, 2002. The deadline for the return of the ballots was June 30. Mr. Diamond and Mr. Alvin Keenan contested the tablestock producer position for the Eastern District. One hundred, twelve (112) ballots were counted from the 210 registered producers of this district. Mr. Diamond, having the majority of votes, was declared elected. The Prince Edward Island Potato Board consists of nine members, three from each district consisting of one seed producer, one table stock producer, and one processing producer.
