The Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission approved the following petroleum pricing decisions, effective 12:01 a.m., Friday, April 15, 2016:
• Gasoline prices will increase by 3.5 cents per litre (cpl);
• Furnace and stove oil prices will decrease by 6.0 cpl;
• Diesel prices will decrease by 5.0 cpl; and
• There will be no change in propane prices at this time.
Including adjustments for taxes, pump prices for regular unleaded gasoline at self-serve outlets will now range from 101.6 cpl to 102.7 cpl.
The maximum price for furnace oil will now amount to 66.7 cpl, plus tax.
While the wholesale price of gasoline continues to rise, necessitating the upward adjustment announced today, the reduced wholesale pricing of furnace oil and diesel allows for a reduction in price for both of these products.
The Commission's next scheduled price adjustment will be on May 1, 2016.
