The Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission approved the following petroleum pricing decisions, effective 12:01 a.m., Tuesday, September 1, 2015:
• Gasoline prices will decrease by 4.0 cents per litre (cpl);
• There will be no change in furnace, stove oil or diesel prices at this time; and
• Propane prices will increase by 0.4 cpl for Superior Propane and by 0.7 cpl for Irving Energy Distribution and Marketing. There will be no change in price for Kenmac Energy Inc.
Including adjustments for taxes, pump prices for regular unleaded gasoline at self-serve outlets will now range from 102.9 cpl to 104.1 cpl. Maximum before tax propane prices will now range from 60.9 cpl to 64.7 cpl.
The maximum price for furnace oil will continue to amount to 70.9 cpl, plus tax.
Continued improved wholesale pricing relative to gasoline now affords the price reduction announced today.
The Commission notes that the petroleum commodities market has been characterized by significant price fluctuation as of late. Accordingly, the situation will be monitored very closely. Such fluctuation may necessitate interim price adjustments other than those normally scheduled for the 1st and 15th of each month.
The Commission's next scheduled price adjustment will be on September 15, 2015.
