Petroleum Price Reductions -- Co-op Atlantic & Superior Propane Inc.

The Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission announced today that approval has been granted to Co-op Atlantic to reduce by 0.4 cent per litre the prices of all grades of gasoline and low sulphur diesel sold under its dealer tank truck pricing schedule. Market conditions was given as the reason for these requested reductions.

The Commission also approved an application by Superior Propane Inc. for adjustments to its pricing schedule by altering certain of its pricing categories, eliminating others not utilized, and applying reductions of 3.0 cents per litre to all prices in the remaining categories of pricing as a result of lower propane acquisition costs.

The lower prices of both companies become effective at 12:01 a.m. on Thursday, 12 March 1998.
