October 31, 1997 The Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission announced today that applications for crude oil cost-related increases have been approved by the Commission. Ultramar Ltd., Shell Canada Products Limited and Petro-Canada have been authorized to increase by 0.5 cent per litre, and Imperial Oil Limited and Irving Oil Limited have been authorized to increase by 0.6 cent per litre the prices of all products in their dealer and posted consumer pricing schedules. Co-op Atlantic also received approval to increase its prices by 0.6 cent per litre based on the increases granted its supplier, and Wilson Fuel Co. Limited received approval to increase the prices contained in its dealer pricing schedule by 0.5 cent per litre based on the crude oil cost component of pricing. All pricing adjustments become effective at 12:01 am on Saturday, 1 November 1997. The Commission further announced that Shell Canada Products Limited recently received approval to add the offering of low sulphur diesel fuel to its posted consumer schedule at a price one-half cent higher than that charged for regular diesel.
