August 29, 1997 The Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission announced today that applications for crude oil cost-related decreases have been approved by the Commission. Ultramar Ltd. has been authorized to decrease by 0.2 cent per litre. Shell Canada Products Limited, Imperial Oil Limited and Petro-Canada have been authorized to decrease by 0.3 cent per litre, and Irving Oil Limited has been authorized to decrease by 0.4 cent per litre the prices of all products in their dealer and posted consumer pricing schedules. Co-Op Atlantic also received approval to decrease its prices by 0.3 cent per litre based on the decreases granted its supplier. Imperial Oil Limited and Co-Op Atlantic also received approval to add the offering of low sulphur diesel fuel to their posted consumer schedule at a price one cent higher than that charged for regular diesel. In addition, Irving Oil Limited was authorized to decrease the cost of propane, with the exception of that sold through cylinder exchange centres, by 0.2 cpl based on reduced propane acquisition costs.
