Petroleum Price Changes - Superior and Shell

The Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission announced today that approval was granted to Superior Propane Inc. to increase all prices contained in its pricing schedule by 1.0 cent per litre effective 12:01 a.m. on 12 September 1996. Superior's application was made on the basis of increased propane acquisition and rail freight costs.

Also approved by the Commission was an application by Shell Canada Products Limited to reduce the prices of products sold through its posted consumer pricing schedule. Approval was granted to reduce the price of regular unleaded gasoline by 1.0 cent per litre (cpl), mid-grade unleaded gasoline by 0.4 cpl, diesel by 0.8 cpl, stove oil by 0.5 cpl and furnace oil by 1.2 cpl, effective 12:01 a.m. on 13 September 1996. Shell's application was made on the basis of market conditions.
