February 28, 2013 The Prince Edward Island Liquor Control Commission will launch its fifth annual province-wide Support Safe Grad fundraising campaign on Friday, March 1, 2013, announced Tourism and Culture Robert Henderson, minister responsible for the Liquor Control Commission. “The PEILCC is pleased to offer our customers the opportunity to support safe grad celebrations by donating $1 at its corporate retail outlets during March. All donations will be distributed to PEI high schools to help fund their alcohol-free graduation celebrations,” said Minister Henderson. Customers who make donations will receive a sample-sized package of chocolate as a thank you. “We welcome the opportunity to promote the message of responsible use, which includes the prevention of underage drinking and zero consumption for minors, ” added Minister Henderson. Funds generated through this campaign supplement fundraising and volunteer efforts of parents, students and teachers who work throughout the year to ensure the success of safe grad activities. One hundred percent of the donations for the Support Safe Grad campaign will be distributed to high schools hosting safe grad events.Media Contact: James MacLeod
