PEILCC continues to generate funds for support of community organizations

Over the last five years, the PEI Liquor Control Commission (PEILCC) has been helping community organizations through its annual wine cooler raffle. The proceeds of this fundraiser will assist the work of the Stars for Life - Foundation for Autism and the PEI Association of Food Banks.

“Both the Stars for Life - Foundation for Autism and the PEI Association of Food Banks benefit Islanders and provide positive change in our communities,” noted Robert Henderson, minister responsible for the PEI Liquor Control Commission.

This latest raffle offered the chance to win one of 23 prize packages consisting of a free standing wine fridge and a variety of Ontario VQA wines. Through the continued support of PEILCC customers, over $13,000 was raised for these two charitable causes during this annual fundraiser.

“The funds received from this campaign come as welcome support for those living with autism and those who care for them,” said Lisa Gallant, Director of the Stars for Life - Foundation for Autism.

“We appreciate the continued support of the community and the PEILCC, and we are pleased to be able to distribute these funds to help feed Islanders across the province,” said Mike MacDonald, general manager of the PEI Association of Food Banks.

Stars for Life - Foundation for Autism works to safeguard the future of Island children with autism by providing integrated living and learning opportunities during the course of their lives.

Food banks in this province see over 42,000 visits every year. The PEI Association of Food Banks use the results of its annual HungerCount to allocate the donated proceeds to each of its association member food banks.
