PEILCC announces new funds for MADD Canada

The Prince Edward Island Liquor Control Commission (PEILCC) is pleased to announce a new program that will support the efforts of MADD Canada on Prince Edward Island. Beginning in April, proceeds from fees generated at Automated Teller Machines located in PEILCC retail outlets will be donated to MADD Canada.

“These funds will help MADD Canada continue its work by offering support to victims and heightening awareness about the dangers of impaired driving in Prince Edward Island,” announced Hon. Robert Vessey, Minister Responsible for the PEI Liquor Control Commission.

“By spreading the message about the dangers of impaired driving, we hope to prevent needless injuries and deaths on Island roads,” noted Andy Murie, Chief Executive Officer, MADD Canada. “We thank the PEI Liquor Control Commission for their continued support and are appreciative of these new funds to help carry out chapter related activities in Prince Edward Island.”

The PEILCC also supports MADD Canada programs through sponsorship of their Multi-Media Assembly program in Island high schools as well as through endorsement of Campaign 911.
