The Prince Edward Island Women’s Institute (PEIWI) kicks off preparations for the 100th Centennial Anniversary in 2013 with a brand new website. The website, www.peiwi.ca, will be unveiled during the Women’s Health Expo at the Murphy Centre on the evening of September 25, 2012. The website is part of a re-branding strategy.
“The PEIWI website will be used to share information on a variety of signature events that are beneficial to community members of all ages,” said Doreen Cole, president of PEIWI. “As we develop our marketing strategy, social media will be introduced in 2013 as part of our Centennial celebrations.”
The new website will include convener kits for branch members, a listing of all Women’s Institute (WI) branches, information on how to join, event listings and information pertaining to national and international affiliates. The website also includes recipes, photos and other ongoing artifacts of WI.
“The re-branding is part of a visionary strategy to refresh PEIWI into the next century of WI on Prince Edward Island while maintaining traditional WI principles,” said Ellen MacPhail, Executive Director of PEIWI. “The website will be the gateway to introduce new developing ideas unique not only to Prince Edward Island but across Canada.”
The Women’s Health Expo, hosted by PEIWI and Murphy’s Health Education Services will feature interactive health stations for health and fitness, guest speakers, demonstrations, and recreation tips from goPEI.
Branches and members are diverse but share the same principles and traditions. There are approximately 100 WI branches with over 1,000 members in Prince Edward Island.
