PEI Seafood Companies-Return From International Event

PEI seafood processors have just returned from the largest seafood event in North America – the International Boston Seafood Show. Eleven Island companies participated in this three-day trade show which attracts buyers from over 80 countries.

The Boston Seafood Show is one of the most important marketing activities for PEI seafood companies, allowing companies to source new markets, new customers, meet with their existing customer base, and launch new products.

Dana Drummond with Ocean Choice PEI Inc. says this year’s show was very important to their company. “This week, we launched several new products in Boston to both our existing customers and potential customers; we received a great response at the show.”

Several PEI companies exhibited in the provincial Pavilion at the show. The pavilion was coordinated by PEI Business Development. Michael Currie, Minister of Development and Technology also toured the show this year. “It was exciting to see PEI companies showcased on an international stage like the Boston Seafood Show; seafood products from PEI are among the best in the world.”

Michael MacInnis, Executive Director of the PEI Seafood Processors Association, says the Boston Seafood Show provides an opportunity for Island seafood processors to meet with partners from every corner of the globe. “The Show is an opportunity for our Association to work with our members and government partners to promote the Island’s seafood products to the world.”
