The Department of Community and Cultural Affairs will be hosting the 2nd Annual 911 Atlantic Conference on October 16th and 17th, 2002 at the Best Western Hotel in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.
The Theme, "Communicating," will emphasize the vital role communication plays in the 911 reporting and emergency response processes. The conference is open to representatives of all emergency service associations within the Atlantic provinces.
"We are very pleased to host the 2nd Annual 911 Atlantic Conference in Charlottetown and provide delegates with an opportunity to share information, participate in educational sessions and develop solutions to common challenges," says Honourable Elmer MacFadyen, Minister of Community and Cultural Affairs and Minister responsible for the 911 Emergency Response System.
The two-day conference program will include presentations and workshops on 911 operations, challenges and opportunities. Delegates will also have the chance to meet and share experiences with others in the field. In addition to the conference, a special "911 Wireless" forum will be held at the Best Western Hotel on the morning of October 18th.
