PEI Food Processors Association To Hold Workshop

* Economic Development [to Jul 1998]
The Prince Edward Island Food Processors Association is spearheading a top notch workshop for food and beverage processors in Atlantic Canada. It is a "Packaging and Labelling for Food Products" workshop scheduled for November 5 and 6 at The Prince Edward, a Canadian Pacific Hotel, in Charlottetown, PEI.

Joy Hanley, President of Fine Food Investments and spokesperson for the PEI Food Processors Association, speaks positively about the conference concept and content. "Anyone who is in the business of food or beverage processing in Atlantic Canada, or anyone looking to get their products launched in the near future would be well advised to attend this two day workshop. We have sought experts to bring their knowledge in many topics related to packaging and labelling. Speakers on the first day will share the most current information on choosing the right container, whether it be glass, plastic, metal or paper. On the second day of the workshop the program will bring diverse information on labelling."

"Of course the bottom line is to make Atlantic agri-food, fisheries and beverages more saleable at home and in the export market," added Hanley.

There will be an exhibit/display area set up during the conference. Participants will have direct contact with companies and personnel in the business of manufacturing and selling food packaging.

The PEI Food Processors Association is pleased to have received support from the Atlantic Agri-Products Competitiveness Initiative to assist in putting on this conference. The cost per participant is $75 and space is limited to 125 people. For more information on registration contact Pat Manning, Enterprise PEI, at
