From April 1st to the 30th, Prince Edward Island will once again prove itself to be the ‘Burger Capital of Canada’.
PEI Burger Love returns for its 5th year, and it Is the beefiest yet with 60 restaurants vying for their culinary burgers to be crowned Prince Edward Island’s ‘Most Loved Burger’.
The multi-award winning campaign is coming off last year’s smashing success where there were 92,168 burgers sold with over $1.1 million in burger sales alone. That equaled over 42,000 pounds of beef consumed in just 30 days.
"I encourage all Islanders to continue to show their support for our local beef industry during the PEI Burger Love campaign," said Agriculture and Forestry Minister George Webster. "We have high quality products and a group of committed producers and restauranteurs who are helping the make Canada's Food Island a top-rated culinary destination."
PEI Burger Love is a month-long celebration of 100% Island Beef, created by Fresh Media and presented in partnership with PEI Cattle Producers, PEI Department of Agriculture & Forestry, and PEI Flavours. Sponsors include PEI Potatoes, Cooke Insurance Group, PEI Restaurant Association, plus Hop City’s Barking Squirrel craft ale.
“We’re extremely proud that PEI Burger Love is bringing people to the table, and having such a positive economic impact on PEI”, said Melody Dover, President of Fresh Media. “And to celebrate our 5th birthday, we’ve added a lot of new ways to join in on the beefy fun”.

"We're very proud to be part of the PEI Burger Love campaign for the fifth year," said PEI Cattle Producers' Chair Brian Morrison. "Our farm families go to great lengths to ensure the beef that we all enjoy is top quality, and as our industry rebuilds by attracting new and young farmers, we want to thank all Islanders for their continued support.”
