Health PEI is advising the public that the O’Leary Health Centre walk-in clinic will be closed on Thursday, September 1 due to insufficient physician coverage. Ambulatory services at the health centre will continue as scheduled.
For those with non-urgent medical situations, the walk-in clinic at Guardian Drugs (536 Main Street) will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday.
Anyone with urgent medical needs should call 9-1-1 or seek immediate medical care at the Western Hospital emergency department when:
• experiencing discomfort or tightness in the chest;
• experiencing unusual shortness of breath;
• experiencing abdominal pain;
• experiencing prolonged and persistent headache or dizziness;
• an injury may require stitches or involve a broken bone;
• a child has prolonged diarrhea or vomiting; or
• a baby under the age of six months has a fever of 38̊C (100.4̊F) or higher.
The O’Leary Health Centre walk-in clinic will re-open on Friday, September 2, as scheduled, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. For more information, please visit www.healthpei.ca.
