A new employment website for local employers and job seekers, WorkPEI.ca, is now live, says Minister Richard Brown, Workforce and Advanced Learning.
“The Government of Prince Edward Island, through the Department of Workforce and Advanced Learning, is excited to introduce this new initiative,” said Minister Brown. “Through WorkPEI.ca, information can be easily shared on employment opportunities and labour market supports and services available on PEI.”
WorkPEI.ca will serve as a valuable resource for job seekers, local employers, students, newcomers, and PEI expats. The website provides job seekers and employers with access to many options for assistance provided by the Province, including a new job board with advanced search features aimed at matching job seekers to employers through local job vacancies.
“As a growing business, we are always in recruitment mode,” said Devin Bruce, Chief Business Development Officer and Partner at Thinking Big. “WorkPEI.ca will allow us to connect with motivated career seekers who are either on PEI or looking to move here, which simplifies our recruitment process.”
WorkPEI.ca will provide useful and time saving options for registered users, including: job postings; resume sharing; job matching; occupational profiles; labour market statistics; and information on current PEI supports and services available to Islanders. The website is a free, 24/7, one-stop-shop for employers, employees, and labour market information on Prince Edward Island.
“There are job opportunities on Prince Edward Island and WorkPEI.ca can make it easier for these individuals to connect with each other. Together, we can build a more prosperous and vibrant PEI,” said Brown.
Current SkillsPEI employers and job seekers will receive a letter in the coming days, encouraging them to register for this new service. All interested employers and job seekers are also encouraged to visit www.WorkPEI.ca to register today. For more information, please contact 1-877-491-4766.
WorkPEI.ca is funded in whole or in part by the Canada-PEI Labour Market Development Agreement.
