New Human Rights Commissioners Appointed

On April 11, 2006, the Legislature, on the recommendation of the Standing Committee on Social and Economic Development, appointed three new Human Rights Commissioners. The Commissioners, Gerry O’Connell of Stratford, Lou Ann Thomson of Brudenell and Maurice Rio of Summerside, replace outgoing Commissioners George Kells and Richard Noonan. Richard Montigny of Charlottetown was named Chairman, replacing George Kells.

The Prince Edward Island Human Rights Commission now has six Commissioners: Richard Montigny, Ann Sherman, Anne Nicholson, Gerry O’Connell, Lou Ann Thomson and Maurice Rio.
