The NEW Festival of Wines promises to impress

Experience the joie de vivre and the all new look and feel of Prince Edward Island's New Festival of Wines at the Charlottetown Civic Centre, May 24 and 25, 2013.

What's so new? Now produced by Versatile Management Group, the New Festival of Wines has been redesigned to “wine and dine” you with new and local flavours from the moment you walk through the door.

Over 200 limited quantity wines from around the world will be available to be explored, including this year's featured country - France, recognized as one of the world's oldest and largest wine producing regions. New this year are cheese stations from COWS CREAMERY and Dairy Farmers of Canada featuring varieties of cheeses to complement your wine selections.

“We've added a whole new look and feel to Prince Edward Island's largest showcase of wine,” says Tracey Singleton, President of Versatile Management Group. We've made a significant investment in décor to enhance the overall atmosphere to make it warm and inviting. As well, we'll be providing complimentary shuttle service from downtown Charlottetown before and after each Grand Tasting. These enhancements coupled with the addition of food samples is not only great value, but will enhance the overall wine experience for consumers.”

More than just a wine tasting, this event encourages guests to immerse themselves in fine local flavours. The Friday Grand Tasting will be presented by Red Shores Race Track and Casino and will feature appetizer-style food stations created by Chef Andrew Smith. Saturday’s Grand Tasting, presented by Redwater Rustic Grille, features the culinary talents of Chef Jane Crawford. Wine and cheese seminars will be offered on Saturday afternoon by the Dairy Farmers of Canada to help you perfect the art of wine and cheese pairing.

“The NEW Festival of Wines is set to be a great event and I encourage wine enthusiasts of every taste to take part,” said Hon. Robert Henderson, minister responsible for the PEI Liquor Control Commission. “Festival guests will have the opportunity to sample from a variety of products during this year's tastings, including those from our local wineries, as well as those of the featured country of France and many other popular wine producing regions,” he added.
