New Chair of Workers Compensation Board appointed

Stuart Affleck has been appointed Chair of the Workers Compensation Board. Affleck, of Summerside, served as an Employer Representative on the board since 2008 and has worked with many Island organizations.

A farm owner and operator for 38 years, Affleck has served with the P.E.I. Potato Board, East Prince Regional Health Board, PEI Unit 2 Regional School Board, the Provincial Family Farm Appeals Board, and the Farming Consultation Panel.

The Workers Compensation Board thanked outgoing chair Nancy Guptill. During her tenure with the board she oversaw many initiatives including amendments to the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Workers Compensation Act.

The WCB is an independent, non-profit organization funded entirely by Island employers. It provides no-fault workplace injury and illness insurance and promote workplace health and safety for all Islanders.
