Morell Bridge Closes for Repairs this Weekend

Beginning Friday, January 29 at 9 a.m., the Morell Bridge on Route 2 will close to traffic while the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal conducts repairs. The closure will be in effect until Monday, February 1 at 3 p.m.

An alternate route will be in place as will signs directing traffic while the closure is in effect. The alternate route is as follows:

Traffic heading east toward Souris will turn right onto Route 322, Green Meadows Road, left onto Route 320, Peakes Road, left onto Route 321, Bangor Road and then right back onto Route 2. The alternate route is reversed for traffic heading west toward Charlottetown.

Traffic heading east to Souris and nearby locations can also use the Trans Canada Highway, Route 3 and Route 4 to avoid the alternate route around the Morell Bridge.
