February 21, 2007 * Community and Cultural Affairs [to Jun 2007]Community and Cultural Affairs Minister Elmer McFadyen unveiled two new heritage posters for 2007 on Monday during Heritage Day events in Victoria and Charlottetown. The watercolours were painted by Victoria artist, Henry Dunsmore, and depict the Victoria Village Inn and the Charlottetown CNR Station. The Victoria Village Inn is a designated place under the Heritage Places Protection Act, while the Charlottetown CNR Station has been designated by the City of Charlottetown. The posters will be used to promote the national Historic Places Initiative, a collaborative effort among local, provincial and federal governments to encourage Canadians to learn about, value, enjoy and conserve historic places.
