The Honourable Don MacKinnon, Minister of Development, met with several businesses at the West Royalty Industrial Park this week.
Minister Don MacKinnon noted, "Our Government is pleased to see the West Royalty Industrial Park operating at full capacity and assisting businesses to succeed in the world market place." The Minister also noted, "Business parks are a key element when it comes to attracting new business to our Province."
The 100-acre park accommodates 62 businesses and has 1,399 employees working full time, part time and seasonally. Additionally, several park tenants are currently expanding their operations which will create approximately 200 new jobs. Companies operating out of the park manufacture a wide variety of products such as micro-breweries, medical devices and stainless steel cookware, all of which are exported world wide.
Minister Don MacKinnon said, "The concept of providing space in industrial parks in an effort to assist new and expanding businesses during the initial years of operation has proven very successful at West Royalty Industrial Park. "Hon. MacKinnon also added, "The park has an excellent mix of long-term tenants that provide a stable foundation for the park, as well as a number of other tenants that require short-term startup accommodations during the early years of operation. This mix is one of the reasons that the West Royalty Industrial Park is so successful."
The tour of the West Royalty Industrial Park included Padinox Inc., Aqua Health, Diagnostic Chemical Ltd., Diversified Metal Engineering and Tube Fab.
