Cindy and Chris MacLeod and family of Summerside are the grand prize winners of the Take 30 for the Family “Share Your Family Story” contest.
In April, the Province of Prince Edward Island and community partners launched a social marketing program called “Take 30 for the Family” designed to provide parents with information, activity ideas and tools to promote positive parenting and healthy brain development during a child’s critical early years.
The spring campaign invited parents and grandparents of children up to eight years old to enter a contest and share their story about how they spend time learning and growing together. Four weekly winners, including Denise Conway of Bonshaw, Karen Judson of Charlottetown, Linda Roach of Seal River and Dawn MacDougall of Summerside, were each awarded a voucher for $200 worth of groceries from a local Co-op store. The grand prize winner was selected from a random draw.
The MacLeod family will be awarded a Broil King Signet barbeque from Home Hardware stores of PEI valued at $550.
The “Take 30 for the Family” program is a collaborative effort of the PEI Children’s Secretariat, which is a network of community and government organizations working together to advance healthy child development in Prince Edward Island, with support from corporate partners Co-op and Home Hardware stores of PEI.
