Workforce and Advanced Learning Minister Richard Brown extended congratulations to UPEI business case competition students on their recent results at competitions throughout the first academic semester.
“On behalf of the Province of Prince Edward Island, I’d like to extend congratulations to UPEI’s case competition teams that saw some incredible results this past semester,” said Minister Brown. “Nine students competed in a variety of competitions across Canada, and their hard work should be commended.”
UPEI’s case competition teams consist of three teams of nine students—two teams of four students and one team competing as a pair in competition. The teams have competed in four competitions to date this academic year, placing first and second in one regional competition; second place in an international competition; and gaining entry into the final round of two international competitions.
The teams are busy preparing for competitions in the New Year, including the Inter-Collegiate Business Competition later this month and the John Molson Undergraduate Case Competition in February.
“Hearing about success like this for our Island students is encouraging, and is but one example of the impressive work being done by students in Prince Edward Island. It is my hope that Island employers take notice and consider hiring students like our case competition participants, through various programs, such as the Graduate Mentorship Program,” said Minister Brown.
Congratulations and best of luck to UPEI’s case competition teams as they continue their preparations for upcoming competitions.
