Hon. P. Mitchell Murphy, Minister of Community Affairs and Attorney General, announced the minimum wage will increase from $5.15 to $5.40 effective September 01, 1997.
The increase is part of a two stage increase approved by Executive Council on the recommendation made by the Employment Standards Board in January, 1996. The current rate has been in effect from September 01, 1996.
