Murray Myles, Returning Officer for the Prince Edward Island Cattle Producers, the Dairy Farmers of Prince Edward Island and the Egg Producers of Prince Edward Island, is pleased to report the following recent appointments and election results.
Ronnie MacWilliams, West Cape, was re-elected by acclamation to represent West Prince District milk producers on the board of Dairy Farmers of Prince Edward Island. Ronald Maynard, Tyne Valley, was re-elected to represent Summerside District milk producers; Jeff Weeks, Breadalbane, was re-elected by acclamation to represent Charlottetown District milk producers; and Theo Kouwenberg, Vernon Bridge, was re-elected by acclamation to represent Montague-Souris District milk producers. All terms are for three years commencing at the first meeting of the Board following the annual meeting of quota holders.
David McCloskey, Bonshaw, was appointed by Marketing Council to fill a producer-at-large vacancy on the Prince Edward Island Cattle Producers Board and Brian Morrison, Summerside, was appointed to fill a Prince County vacancy on the Board. Mr. McCloskey’s term is for three years while Mr. Morrison’s term is for two years. Both terms commence immediately following the Annual Meeting of registered cattle producers.
Elections were also announced to Egg Producers of Prince Edward Island. John Dennis, Tyne Valley, and Peter Stavert, Freetown, were re-elected by acclamation and Nathan Burns, Freetown, was elected by acclamation. All terms are for two years commencing on April 1, 2010.
