Maritime University Graduate Survey Launched

A survey of Class of 2003 Maritime university graduates to collect information on experiences in work, further study and managing student-loan repayment has been launched, the Maritime Provinces Higher Education Commission announced today, November 12, 2008.

The telephone survey is a follow-up to a canvass conducted three years ago with the same class. It is expected that more than 2,000 graduates will be interviewed in November. The telephone survey will take about 25 minutes to complete. The Strategic Counsel, a third-party national market research firm, is conducting the research on behalf of the Maritime Provinces Higher Education Commission.

"I encourage those graduates contacted for this survey to participate, and take the opportunity to comment on the value of their university education and how that education has influenced their lives over the past five years," said Mireille Duguay, CEO of the commission. "Their responses will help provincial governments and universities in the Maritimes to evaluate and design policies pertaining to university students and graduates."

The survey is the seventh in the commission's research program. Reports from previous surveys are available at www.mphec.ca.

The Maritime Provinces Higher Education Commission was established in 1974 to help institutions and governments to enhance a post-secondary learning environment. The commission's 20 members are drawn from the Maritime provinces and represent higher education institutions, provincial governments and the general public.
