May 10, 2012 * Agriculture and Forestry [to May 2015]The 2012 Maritime Angus Field Day and Junior Show will be held Saturday June 9 and Sunday June 10 at the Crapaud Exhibition Grounds. It is being hosted by Bannockburn Valley Farms and the PEI Angus Association. On Saturday June 9 at 7 p.m., there will be greetings from Canadian Angus officials, followed by a social and fun auction. On Sunday June 10, there will be an Angus beef-on-a-bun lunch served starting at 11:30 a.m. At 12:30 p.m., Kurt Duncan will make a presentation on Expected Progeny Differences. The Junior Heifer Show will commence at 1 p.m. with Conformation Classes followed by Showmanship classes. The judge for the event is Gary Latimer, Alberta. Order of classes is Commercial calves and yearlings, followed by Purebred calves and yearlings. All are welcome to attend. Registration is $15 per adult, $5 for those under nine.
