Lieutenant Governor's Last Heritage Tour Booked

Queens County and the Southern Kings County portion of the province are on the Governor’s list for his fourth and final heritage tour of Prince Edward Island slated for Monday and Tuesday, August 22 and 23.

Murray River’s Garnet Buell will welcome His Honour on Monday morning as he begins his visit to the Southern Kings area. Cape Bear Lighthouse and Marconi Museum are next on the agenda, followed by the Log Museum and Rossignol Winery, both located in White Sands. To round out the first day, there will be visits to two separate lighthouses at Wood Islands and Point Prim.

On Tuesday, August 23, the day will begin at Brudenell with a stop at ‘Roma at Three Rivers’ and the Garden of the Gulf Museum in Montague. The itinerary also includes Moore’s Bird Sanctuary at Milltown Cross and the MacPhail Homestead at Orwell.

“The heritage tours have provided an overall look at the Island and all the wonderful points of interest for Islanders and tourists alike. I am impressed with the warm welcome afforded to us both and thank Islanders for their generous hospitality,” said the Lieutenant Governor Bernard.
