Lieutenant Governor to Visit West Prince

Lieutenant Governor J. Léonce Bernard will commence his second summer heritage tour on July 25 and 26 when he visits the West Prince area of the province.

On Monday, July 25, Their Honours begin the morning with a visit to the PEI Potato Museum in O’Leary, a stop at the Irish Moss Interpretive Centre in Miminegash and visits to Northport Pier, Murals and the Alberton Museum, all located in the Town of Alberton. A trip to the North Cape Nature & Technology wind test site located in North Cape and The Green in Tignish will cap off their day.

Tuesday, July 26 will see Lieutenant Governor and Mrs. Bernard begin the day with a visit to the Tignish Cultural Centre and St. Simon and St. Jude Church. They will travel on to Bideford to the Bideford Parsonage Museum and then to the Lennox Island Mi’kmaq Cultural Centre in Lennox Island.

“Prince Edward Island has so much to offer. The first tour of the Island was very interesting and we are both looking forward to visiting the West Prince area of the Island, meeting new people and renewing old acquaintances.”

The third tour is scheduled for August 8 and 9.
