Lieutenant Governor Kicks Off Tours

Lieutenant Governor J. Léonce Bernard will kick off his first in a series of four heritage tours beginning on Monday,

July 11 when he and Madame Bernard travel through the Queens/East Prince area of the province.

Monday, July 11 will begin with visits to Victoria Seaport Museum, Tryon Museum (Really-O Crafts, Antiques & Museum), and L.M. Montgomery Lower Bedeque School. In the afternoon they will stop in Summerside at the International Fox Museum & Fox Hall of Fame, Wyatt Heritage Properties as well as the Acadian Museum in Miscouche.

On Tuesday, July 12 His Honour will travel to Kensington to visit the Veteran Memorial Museum and continue on to the Keir Memorial Museum in Malpeque. Stops at Anne of Green Gables Museum at Silverbush and the Lucy Maude Montgomery Birthplace Museum will complete the morning itinerary. In the afternoon the Lieutenant Governor will complete the two-day tour by calling at the Rustico Harbour Fishery Museum and Gaudreau’s Woodworking in South Rustico.

“I am very excited about the two-day itinerary that has been put in place. Although a number of these operations are familiar to me, I am very much looking forward to revisiting the various sites and speaking first hand with the owners and operators.”

The next tour is scheduled for July 25 and 26.
