Lieutenant Governor Extends Sympathy

Honourable Gilbert R. Clements expressed sympathy today on the passing of the Honourable Gordon Bennett, a former Lieutenant Governor and politician, and a personal friend.

"I was saddened to hear the news of Mr. Bennett's death," said His Honour. "Although in ill health for some time, his death came unexpectedly."

Our friendship dates back to the early 1970s when we served together in the Provincial Legislature. His dedication and commitment to the people of Prince Edward Island, as an educator, politician and later as Lieutenant Governor, speaks highly of his devotion to public life.
