Go!PEI’s Let’s Walk! program is making it easier than ever for Islanders to stay active during the winter, says Health and Wellness Minister Robert Henderson.
“Despite winter weather conditions and cold temperatures that can put a damper on physical activity plans, it is important to stay active,” said the minister. “Let’s Walk! offers indoor walking clubs that provide a safe and fun alternative by removing barriers associated with walking outdoors in the winter.”
A number of facilities and schools across Prince Edward Island are hosting the free walking clubs, including M. E. Callaghan Intermediate School, Alberton Elementary School, Credit Union Place, Kensington Fitplex, South Shore Actiplex, Stratford Town Hall, Cavendish Farms Wellness Centre Montague, Eastern Kings Sports Centre and Westisle High School. Clubs are also offered at several walking tracks for a small cost, including Cornwall APM Centre, UPEI Sports Centre, and Holland College.
