August 9, 2000 * Agriculture and Forestry [to Oct 2003]Gerard Kariuki, a dairy farmer from Kenya, presents a bag of Kenya coffee to Agriculture and Forestry Minister Mitch Murphy during his visit to Prince Edward Island. Mr. Kariuki's visit to the province is being hosted by Farmers Helping Farmers. He is meeting with individuals and businesses to learn about the agriculture and food industry. Farmers Helping Farmers has conducted several hundred projects in Kenya and Tanzania, focussing on small-scale, practical projects organized and supported by community groups. Farmers Helping Farmers has assisted Mr. Kariuki's group with the purchase of a bulk tank to cool their milk.Media Contact: Wayne MacKinnon
