A judicial recount was conducted today by Chief Provincial Court Judge John Douglas to determine the official number of ballots cast for each candidate in Electoral District 5 Vernon River- Stratford after the recent Provincial General Election on May 4, 2015.
The official recount by Judge Douglas indicates the following results:

As a result of the judicial recount, the number of ballots for Mary Ellen MCINNIS and Alan MCISAAC were tied at 1173 votes. The Returning Officer for Electoral District 5 Vernon River-Stratford, Marie Curran, conducted a coin toss which was won by Alan MCISAAC . He was then declared the winning candidate in Electoral District 5 Vernon River-Stratford.
