Islanders reminded to make an appointment to get the flu shot

Health PEI is reminding Islanders that, beginning today, they can call the toll-free phone number – 1-855-354-4358 (4FLU) – to make an appointment to get the annual influenza vaccine.

Flu vaccination clinics are expected to be up and running mid-October and will be located in communities across the province with some extended hours available as needed.

The flu vaccination is free again this year for seniors age 65 and over, children aged 6 - 59 months, pregnant women and household contacts of pregnant women. A $7 administration fee will be charged to all others wishing to be vaccinated at the clinics.

Health PEI is also reminding Islanders that the flu vaccination is available by appointment only.
