Islanders Donate Generously to Tsunami Relief

Customers at the province’s 18 liquor stores have made an important contribution to tsunami relief. Collection boxes were placed in the stores on December 30th and were there for approximately two weeks. During that time, $12 ,045.44 was donated by liquor store customers.

“Islanders have always been extremely generous and ready to help anyone out in a time of need,” said Premier Pat Binns. “The tsunami disaster touched us all very deeply and I am pleased that this donation, along with the many other generous donations from Islanders, will be used to help.”

The money has been donated to the PEI Chapter of the Canadian Red Cross.

PEI Liquor Commission CEO Wayne MacDougall expressed his thanks to the Commissions customers for their generosity.
