October 16, 2001 * Agriculture and Forestry [to Oct 2003]Joyce McPhee, a resident of Charlottetown, will leave for New York City on Thursday to help in the massive relief effort there under the auspices of the Red Cross. She will be working 16-hour days close to Ground Zero providing logistical support for food and transportation to emergency personnel. McPhee is an employee of the Department of Agriculture and Forestry, and she has been granted leave with pay. This is not the first time she has aided in relief efforts. Two years ago, she went to Puerto Rico following the devastation of Hurricane George and subsequent major flooding. During her three-week stay, she processed claims for hurricane and flood victims. McPhee has training in emergency preparedness and first aid and is captain of a local disaster relief team for the Red Cross.Media Contact: Joyce McPhee
