Island Educators Recognized By Internationally Acclaimed Institute

The Department of Education and the PEI Teachers' Federation are pleased to announce that two Island educators have been recognized as instructors by The National Crisis Prevention Institute. Georgina Clow and Lloyd Mallard achieved instructor certification at both the senior and masters levels from the internationally acclaimed institute in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Certification at the senior and masters level is presented in recognition of commitment to professionalism as a continuing process.

Mrs. Clow and Mr. Mallard's certification follows their completion of Institute courses and the delivery of conflict resolution programs and short courses throughout Prince Edward Island. A number of groups participated in these courses including teachers, bus drivers, school secretaries, parents and various employee groups.

Mrs. Clow is presently employed by the PEI Teachers' Federation and is responsible for professional development and public relations. She has experience in both classroom teaching and special education.

Mr. Mallard is employed by the Department of Education as Coordinator of Profession al Development. He has worked as a teacher, principal and consultant in the Island school system.
