Diversified Metal Engineering (DME) Ltd. has been issued a Certificate of Authorization from the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors. This authorization allows DME to apply the “NB” mark and register pressure vessels with the National Board.
This is the first Certificate of Authorization issued by the National Board which permits the application of the “NB” mark and registration with the National Board for items manufactured in accordance with the Canadian Standards Association Boiler, Pressure Vessel and Pressure Piping Code.
“It is my pleasure to congratulate DME on this recognition,” said the Honourable Elmer MacFadyen, Minister responsible for Planning and Inspection Services. “DME has completed a rigorous process to determine that their products meet the strict standards of the National Board. Using this authorization mark on DME products is recognition of the quality products produced by DME right here in Prince Edward Island.”
This registration is designed to provide owners, users, and jurisdictional authorities responsible for public safety with certification by the manufacturers of boilers, pressure vessels and other pressure retaining items that those registered items have been manufactured in accordance with a code of construction accepted by the National Board.
Diversified Metal Engineering (DME) Ltd. specializes in the design and fabrication of stainless steel pub and production brewery equipment, marine exhaust cleaning technology, a wide range of bio pharmaceutical products and systems, as well as customized design and fabrication for the food and beverage, industrial, and biotech industries. The National Board membership oversees adherence to codes involving the construction and repair of boilers and pressure vessels. The registration process is a crucial step in maintaining the operational safety of boilers and pressure vessels. To register a boiler or pressure vessel with the National Board, a manufacturer must file a data report detailing important information about the item's construction. This documentation, permanently kept on file by the National Board, is critical to safely repair a boiler or pressure vessel. The National Board currently has more than 30 million registrations on file.
