VisionQuest’s expansion is a strong indication of the health of the Information Technology sector in Prince Edward Island says Innovation and Advanced Learning Minister Allan Campbell.
“On behalf of the government of Prince Edward Island, I would like to congratulate VisionQuest on their expansion and continued success in a competitive sector,” said Minister Campbell. “This expansion shows that we are making headway on the Island Prosperity Strategy by capitalizing on our highly skilled workforce and our advanced infrastructure.”
VisionQuest recently increased its staff, acquired new equipment and nearly doubled its office space in the Atlantic Technology Centre in order to accommodate its expanding client base. VisionQuest provides a broad range of managed IT services including: provision of server capacity, application hosting, managed antivirus, email and spam filtering, remote backups, and server / desktop / network management. VisionQuest’s blend of experienced management and technical team members has given rise to opportunities to provide these services across Canada, and beyond.
“Our continued growth is attributed to our investment in state-of-the-art server and network infrastructure and the provision of high quality expertise to support it, our highly competent and bilingual service desk operating 24 hours a day - 7 days a week, and access to a data centre that provides the high degree of security and reliability demanded in today’s marketplace,” said Des Lecky, Managing Partner of VisionQuest. “Being able to leverage on the quality data centre in the Atlantic Technology Centre enabled us to establish our business on Prince Edward Island.”
VisionQuest is the largest private sector tenant of the Atlantic Technology Centre’s Data Centre. On a daily basis, clients from across North America and 16 other countries are accessing applications and servers located in the data centre.
In addition to marketing its services to large national and international companies, VisionQuest also provides a quality technology platform for PEI businesses, like the Justice Knowledge Network, to offer their services to the world.
“When we were seeking a technology service provider to support us in delivering our Internet-based, e-learning products to clients across North America, we were very pleased to find a local company with the infrastructure and skills we were looking for,” said Sandy Sweet, Executive Director of the Justice Knowledge Network. “VisionQuest offered us a quality service at very competitive rates allowing us to buy local and support PEI business.”
