April 28, 2000 The PEI Liquor Control Commission announced today that the retail price of domestic beer will increase effective May 1, 2000. The new retail price for beer will increase to $16.55 per dozen -- an increase of $ 0.40 per dozen over last year. Included in the retail price is the $1.20 empty bottle refund. This increase is the result of a manufacturer's increase to the Commission attributed to increased costs incurred by the brewers -- primarily world commodity price changes for ingredients in the manufacturing of beer.Media Contact: Island Information Service
