Impressive Showing for Island Holsteins at Royal

The Holstein show at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair is one of the major attractions every year. Hundreds of Canada’s best Holsteins are brought to Toronto to compete for the title of grand champion. Among the rows and rows of dairy cattle were a number of Prince Edward Island’s best. Several impressive placings were earned by exhibitors who were often competing in classes which numbered in the dozens.

Intermediate Calf: Eastside Pronto Melly shown by J. Guy Thompson and Son placed tenth.

Senior Calf: Valleyville Goldwyn Pepsi shown by Gen-Cor Holsteins Ltd. was tenth.

Summer Yearling: Weeksdale Goldwyn Raleigh exhibited by Elmer Weeks placed eighth; Royalwater Jasper Diva, exhibited by J. Guy Thompson & Son, T & L Cattle Ltd., and Blair Weeks placed ninth.

Junior Yearling: Benrise Spirte Dana placed sixth for Blair Weeks, Joel LePage, and Ferme Jendro Inc.

Junior 2 Year Old: Idee Goldwyn Lulu was third. The entry was exhibited by David Dyment and Lexis Holsteins.

Senior 3 Year Old: Trefle Wythney James placed ninth. Shown by Crasdale Farms and Wilsim Dairy Farms.
