Immunization Poster Challenge Winner

Health and Wellness
Grade six students from across Canada were invited to create posters expressing their ideas about immunization and healthy children. Congratulations to Jason Bernard from Alberton, the 2010 National Immunization Poster Contest winner for Prince Edward Island, says Health and Wellness Minister Carolyn Bertram.

“I want to thank Island teachers who are taking the time to talk to their students about the importance of immunization. The poster challenge is a great way to teach children about the value of being vaccinated,” said Minister Bertram. “The success of our immunization program over the past several decades has resulted in a significant decrease in cases of diseases such as meningitis, whooping cough, and German measles, among others.”

Jason’s poster is entitled “Immunization for Kids Health.” The Public Health Agency of Canada and the Canadian Coalition for Immunization Awareness & Promotion hold the poster challenge in conjunction with the Canadian Immunization Conference every two years.
