House Opens on November 18

Premier Pat Binns announced today that he has requested the Speaker to recall the Prince Edward Island Legislative Assembly on Thursday, November 18.

The House did not prorogue following the Spring session so as to allow legislative committees to continue to meet and afford some flexibility in the event that Legislators needed to re-convene on short notice. The formality of proroguing the House will be done before the legislature re-convenes on November 18.

The 2nd Session of the 62nd General Assembly will begin at 3 p.m. with the reading of the Speech from the Throne by the Honourable J. Léonce Bernard, Lieutenant Governor.
