Health PEI is reminding Islanders to call ahead before going to their appointment tomorrow

Due to inclement weather and challenging road conditions, Health PEI is reminding Islanders with appointments at hospitals, clinics and other health care services tomorrow (Thursday) to please call ahead to reconfirm their appointment or to let staff know if they are unable to make the appointment.

Hospital emergency departments across the province are also advising of potentially longer wait times for patients with non-emergency care needs going into this evening and overnight.

Islanders requiring non-emergency care needs can call 8-1-1 for advice and consider visiting a walk-in clinic or making an appointment with their family physician when weather and road conditions improve.

In the event of an emergency, Islanders should call 9-1-1.

Health PEI will continue to update the public should there be further changes.
