The only thing worse than a serious workplace injury is not learning from it and letting it happen again. That is the belief of the Occupational Health and Safety Division, Workers Compensation Board of PEI. It is also the reason for new hazard alerts showing up on WCB's website.
If and when a serious accident or worse, a fatality, occurs and there are lessons to be learned, WCB's OHS professionals will get that information onto the net as quickly as possible. Anyone interested in workplace safety will find this important learning posted at www.wcb.pe.ca under "What's New" or "Occupational Health and Safety."
The WCB website is also linked directly to the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety and the New Brunswick Occupational Health and Safety Commission, allowing for experience to be shared among jurisdictions.
Said Hon. Jim Lee, Chairman of the Workers Compensation Board of PEI, "this is just one more tool available to employees and workers alike in the fight to prevent workpace injury."
